The make-believe swimming pool which forms the impression that guests are immersed in water of 9 ft

It would be understandable if you got shocked at seeing these captivating images. It appears like groups of individuals are immersed in a swimming pool while fully dressed.

However, there is more to it than meets the eye. This is really an optical false impression formed by water of 10 cm being accommodated between two clear glass sheets.

Guests can either wander to the swimming pool –unoccupied room- and look up at the flowing water effect or gaze down from up. The fascinating idea was formed by Leandro Erlich, an artist from Argentina. It is a section of a permanent display in Japan at 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa.
