Emily Williams integrates the strength of fire and glass by creating sea life carvings. Extreme heat is utilized for flame sculptures to form glass; and this facilitates more diverse forms compared to normal glass blowing.
Williams is determined to create sculptures motivated by the sea. The clear glass and the soft forms offer the carvings the water’s vibrant flow, which totally suites the subject matter.
For 30 years, Williams has been carving items and has worked with glass for 9 of these years. In 2013 she began flame working glass, making use of her welding experience. Topics are encouraged by her nature travels.
